Obituary for George C. Kalogeropoulos

George C. Kalogeropoulos
DRACUT, MA-George C. Kalogeropoulos, 92, of Dracut, formerly of Lowell, died Wednesday, September 20, at Northwood Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Chachus) Kalogeropoulos with whom he shared 68 loving years of marriage.

Born in Lowell on October 23, 1924, he was a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Kanatas) Kalogeropoulos. After graduating from Lowell High School, he served in the U.S. Army in WWII and participated in D-Day. After being honorably discharged, he returned home.

For 45 years, he owned/operated George’s Barbershop in downtown Lowell. In his earlier years, George enjoyed bowling, bingo and traveling with Helen. He enjoyed cruises but his favorite trip was to Greece. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially of the Red Sox and the Celtics.

Besides his loving wife, George leaves his 3 sons: Charles and his wife Marina of The Villages, FL, John and his partner Eunice Hoshizaki of Nashua, NH, and Peter and his wife Renee of Nashua, NH. He also leaves 5 grandchildren: Elena, Stephen, Alex, Jillian and Daniel. He was predeceased by his siblings, Fotula Banakos, Julia Athas, Harriet Kalogeris, Sophie Durgin, Peter Kalogeropoulos and John Kalogeropoulos.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday morning September 26th from 8:15-10:15AM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, Ma. His funeral service will be held at 11AM in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell, Ma. His burial will take place in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell, Ma.
