Obituary for Dorothy Marie Janeczko

Dorothy Marie Janeczko
Dorothy M. “Dotty” (Rondeau) Janeczko
Loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister

DRACUT - Dorothy M. “Dotty” (Rondeau) Janeczko, 73, of Dracut, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica surrounded by her loving family after an 11-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was the beloved wife of John Janeczko, to whom she was married for 51 years.

Born in Lowell on October 14, 1943, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Charles and Regina (Lafortune) Rondeau. She attended Ste. Jeanne D’Arc Grammar School and St. Joseph’s High School in Lowell. Dorothy worked at Symphonix in Lowell and Western Electric in Andover; and at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Police Department as the secretary for the Chief of Police for over 15 years before retiring.

She was an avid bowler and a member of many leagues at Brunswick Lanes in Lowell. She loved playing bingo every week, and enjoyed day trips along the Maine coastline with her husband.

Her passion for sewing was a work of love. Everywhere she went, Dorothy’s sewing became a part of the lives of everyone she knew and met, and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t sew. From wedding dresses to christening outfits, curtains to hemmed pants, she saw to it that her work was nothing but the best. Her best customers became her closest and dearest friends over the years.

Dorothy’s pride and joy in her life was her family. She could always be found supporting her husband, children and grandchildren in every aspect of their lives.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of All In One Home Healthcare and Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley for their utmost care and compassion.

In addition to her husband John, she is survived and will be dearly missed by her children, Thomas Janeczko and his wife, Joanne, of Dracut, and Cynthia Hall of Dracut; her two brothers, Gerard Rondeau and his wife, Annette, of Hudson, NH, and Walter Rondeau and his wife, Susan, of Lowell; her sister, Diane Huggins and her husband, Donald, of Dracut; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alexander and Beatrice Janeczko of Dracut, sister-in-law, Eleanor Janeczko of Lowell; her three grandchildren, Stephen and Kimberly Janeczko, and Edouard Hall; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Therese Rondeau, of Dracut.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday from 2:00-6:00pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00am at St. Francis Church, Dracut. Committal prayers will be offered at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
