Obituary for Aileen J. Oliveira (Farrell)

Aileen J. Oliveira (Farrell)
DRACUT, MA – Aileen J. (Farrell) Oliveira, 80, passed away on November 23, 2017, at home after a brief struggle with cancer with her loving children by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late James Oliveira, until his passing in 2016.

Aileen was born in Billerica, MA on August 17, 1937, a daughter of the late Jeannette (Ricard) and John Farrell. Before meeting her husband James, she worked 2 jobs as a single mother raising her 3 children and obtained a degree in Accounting. She worked as an Office Manager at Solomon Mental Health for Anne Kaplan and at Raytheon for over 20 years before retiring.

Before Aileen became ill she loved going out with her sisters, and spending time with her family. She was an amazingly strong woman even up until the time of her death. She had a special knack for making everyone feel welcome in her home in Dracut and every holiday celebration was hosted there for the last 35 plus years. For over 15 years, she and her family enjoyed spending summers at their home at Lake Winnipesaukee.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her three children, Susan Farrell of Lowell, Michael Farrell of Dracut, and Maria Hanley and her companion Stephen Williams of Mason, NH; her three siblings, Eleanor Greenhalge and her husband Gerald of Dracut, Patricia Cobleigh of Lowell, and Norma Martino of Lowell; her six grandchildren, Corey and Eli Robinson, Jessica Albert, Christina Potaliva, Ann Marie Griffin, and Bethany Yates; her ten great-grandchildren; her fifteen nieces and nephews; as well as a large extended family and several close friends.

She was predeceased by her brother John Farrell and her sister Rose Greenhalge.

The Oliveira family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Pickul and his staff of Mill City Medical in Lowell; as well as the caring nurses and staff of Circle Home Hospice for ensuring Aileen was well cared for and comfortable until the end of her life.
