Barbara Beaulieu (Piper)
Barbara Ann (Piper) Mallard Beaulieu, 76, of Chelmsford, MA died peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2017, at her home. She is survived by her loving husband, Jean C. Beaulieu, with whom she shared twenty-five years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on August 2nd, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Bertha W. (Wright) Piper and Rodger F. Piper. She graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1959 and attended the Lowell Trade School Practical Nursing Program. She worked at CBS Electronics, St. John’s Hospital, Bon Marche, Wang Cafeteria, Demoulas Market, Marinel Transportation, and RoadRunner Transportation.
She enjoyed her yearly attendance at the Lobster Bake in Rye, NH with her former Billerica Memorial High School classmates as well as her bi-annual trips with her former bus driver friends, “The Heifers”, since 1977.
She was lovingly known as “Meme” to her two grandsons, Banyan and Larkin.
She loved the ocean, especially the Maine coastline, R.V.’ing , animals, stock-car racing, and was a long-time attendee to the Golden Gloves boxing events. She was an active member of the Westford Sportsmen’s Club where she enjoyed target shooting. Her philosophy in life was Live, Love, and Laugh. She embraced the art of “Yankee ingenuity” and she was a true Yankee.
She is survived by her two sons, Leonard R. Mallard, of Florida, and Kenneth A. Mallard, of Lowell, her daughter Tania A. Mahood and husband Colin C. Mahood, of Oregon, her two grandsons, Banyan T. Mahood and Larkin A. Mahood. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie M. Carson and husband F. William Carson, of Westford, her lifelong friend Carol (Eastman) MacKenzie and husband Jonathan, and her cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and extended family.
She was predeceased by her sister Betty J. Garside and husband Alfred J. Garside.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4 to 7 p.m. on THURSDAY, November 30th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA. Her graveside service will be held on Friday December 1st at 12 noon at the Fairview Cemetery, in Chelmsford.
