H. Lorraine (Tabloski) McQuade ,a member of the Tabloski Polish Home Bakery family, died Tuesday morning January 9th at home on her 89th birthday surrounded by her loving sons after a long illness.
She was the loving wife, for over 50 years of the late Charles F McQuade Sr., and the devoted daughter of the late Helen E. Tabloski. A life long resident of Lowell, she worked in her families' bakery
business on Lakeview Avenue in her adolescent and teen years. She attended Lowell High School class of 1946 where she was a Girl Officer. She concurrently attended Lowell Beauty Academy graduating as a licensed hairdresser, a profession she worked in after school and summers. She received her RN in 1949 from Lowell General Hospital School of General Nursing where she was later appointed as an instructor for a number of years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Boston College class of 1953. She worked in many different facets of nursing over the years including hospital, industrial, and teaching. She also was a 5th grade science and art teacher for a couple of years at St. Michaels' Grammer School when her children were in grade school. She spent the last 18 years of her career as a school nurse at Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical School. She truly cherished her interaction with the students. She reluctantly retired to give 24 home care, with her son Stephen, to her husband suffering from advanced Parkinson disease. She was a life long compassionate care giver to many family members over the years. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her sons: Stephen J.S. McQuade with whom she resided, of Lowell and Dr. Charles F. McQuade, Jr., and his wife Suzanne of Andover, as well as her beloved dog Winston. She is additionally survived by her cousin Theordore F. Tabloski Jr., Phd, and his family of Sudbury and Concord.
ARRANGEMENTS:Relatives and friends my call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, on Friday, January 12th, from 9:30-11:15AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Holy TrinityChurch, High Street, Lowell, Ma., at 12 NOON. Her burial to follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell.
