Obituary for Helen Owens (Zajac)

Helen Owens (Zajac)
LOWELL- Helen (Zajac) Owens, 94, passed away, Wednesday, August 29, at Wingate at Belvidere Nursing Home, Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Attorney Edward J. Owens, who passed away in 2004.

Helen was born in Lawrence on February 19th, 1924 a daughter of the late Stephen Zajac and Marian (Pulnik) Zajac. She was educated in the Lawrence School system, and she continued her education in the Lawrence Area. She was employed as an Assembler for Western Electric for many years prior to getting married and moving to the Lowell area.

In her free time Helen was an avid shopper and a meticulous homemaker. She maintained the family beach house in Seabrook, NH., that many local families have enjoyed over the years. She will mostly be remembered though, for her devotion to her daughter Sheila, who at an early age, suffered from severe health issues, until her passing in 1988.

Helen is survived and will be deeply missed by her son: Richard Owens of Lowell, and her nieces and nephews: David, Donna, Andrea, Philip, Brian, Joanne, Debbie, Rachel and her Brother-in-law Brother John C. Owens CFX. She also leaves her two Grand Nephews, with whom she remained very close with, Kyle and Stephen Zajac.

Helen was pre-deceased by her daughter Sheila who passed away in 1988 and her brother Fred Zajac and her nephews Wayne and Stephen Zajac.

Richard would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Wingate at Belvidere for their kind and compassionate care during Helen's final days. He would also like to extend a very special "Thank You" to Kathy, her private at home PCA, for 5 years. She took tremendous care of Helen prior to her entering Wingate.
