DRACUT, MA - Donald T. Mellor, 91, of Dracut passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Blaire House of Tewksbury. He was the beloved husband of the late Elvira (Vallante) Mellor who died May 13, 2013.
Donald was born in Lowell, on March 7, 1927, a son of the late Molly (Neary) Mellor and the late Robert Mellor. Donald enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17, he was assigned to The USS Guam ship during WWII. He was very proud and eager to serve his country. After the war, Donald worked for the Dracut Mills, then he became employed by MaBell, which later turned into AT&T, then Lucent Technologies, which he retired from, at the age of 62.
Donald enjoyed going to Rockingham Race Track, Foxwoods and family poker games. He was a big football(PATS) fan and loved to joke. He also loved to vacation with family and had a big soft spot for animals.
Donald will be survived by his son Ron Mellor of Seattle, WA, his daughter Colleen M. Mireault of Bartlett, NH; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Angie, Jarid, Donny and his fiancé Tara and Kaile; as well as eight great-grandchildren, and his daughter-in-law Kim Mellor of Dracut.
He was pre-deceased by his two son Don Mellor and Daniel Mellor and his son-in-law Ted Mireault.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Monday at 12NOON in St. Mary Magdalen Church, Tyngsboro. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Dracut.
