DRACUT, MA - Michael J. Strules, 69, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marlena (Hollis) Strules, with whom he shared many loving years of marriage.
Born in Lowell, MA on August 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Irene M. (Marzec) and Michael J. Strules. He received his early education in Lowell. Prior to retirement Michael was a bridge painter and a member of IUPAT, District Council #35, Local 577.
Mike enjoyed golfing, playing cards and fishing. He was an avid sports fan with an outgoing larger than life personality, a great sense of humor, keen wit, and the ability to tell a story that was beyond belief, true or not. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved animals and trips to Saratoga Race Track.
Besides his wife, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, whom he was most proud of, Michael Strules and his companion Kristen Kozlowski of Hudson, NH, and Kelly Pimentel and her husband Mark Pimentel of Pelham, NH; his grandchildren, Michael C. Strules, Carley and Eric Mello of Pelham, NH; his brothers and sisters, Bunny Leclair and her husband David of Lowell, Sissy Paradis and her husband Raymond of Dracut, Judy Bearse of FL, Sharon Paquette of SC, and William Strules of Lowell; his former wife Theresa (Bureau) Strules of FL; his mother-in-law, Ann Hollis of Lowell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Michael Piker Sheehan of Lowell.
Michael was predeceased by his brothers, George Strules, Victor Strules, and Frank Strules, his sister, Jorja Otero, and his faithful companion, Truman.
Michael’s family would like thank the entire staff at Lowell General Cancer Center and Doctors Anasuya Guntari, Blair Ardman, and Tushar Patel.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call on FRIDAY, February 16, 2018, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA 01826. His funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
