Anita Y. Michaud

–

Pelham, New Hampshire

Anita Y. (Chausse) Michaud, age 79, a resident of Pelham, NH, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after living many years with cancer.

Anita was born in Lowell on December 14, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Leo and Annette (Bourgeault) Chausse.

Anita was raised in Lowell, MA and attended local schools. She graduated from Newtons Hair Design and became a licensed cosmetologist. Anita worked as a cosmetologist for several years at Chez Paul Salon in Dracut, as well as other salons in Dracut, MA before opening her own salon to service her loyal clientele. Prior to retiring she was a cosmetologist at Tewksbury Hospital where she made a huge impact on patients and staff with her big personality.

Anita was a generous and caring person who received more pleasure in giving than receiving. She loved giving cards to her children, nieces and nephews for their birthdays and virtually every holiday. She enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods, playing cards and bingo, traveling with her special friends, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Anita is survived by her son, Kevin Michaud and his wife Nadine of Laguna Niguel, California, and her daughter-in-law Tracy (Veillette) Michaud of Brookline, NH. She leaves her loving grandchildren, Madison Michaud of Pelham NH, Bradey Michaud, Kevin Michaud Jr and Julianna Michaud of Laguna Niguel, California, and Matthew Veillette and Shayna Veillette of Brookline, NH.

Anita is also survived by her brother Leo P Chausse of Leesburg, FL, sister Claire Brucato and her husband George of Dracut, MA. Anita also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She was pre-deceased by her son David Michaud, who passed away in March 2026, her brother Roger Chausse and his wife Audrey, sister-in-law Patricia Chausse, and her longtime companion Albert Catenacchi.

All services will be held privately.
