Carol "Shab" Shabouian

Carol Shab Shabouian, age 90 of Dracut, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 after a brief illness at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Jennie Jane (Twarog) Shabouian. He was born in Lowell on May 18, 1930 to the late Haroutune and Elizabeth (Sarkisian) Shabouian. After graduating from Lowell High School in 1948, he enlisted into the US Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He then started his career at Courier Citizen and later in life he attended Fitchburg State College. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Education. Carol grew his career as the Electrographic Department Chairman at the Greater Lowell Vocational School where he developed apprenticeship programs and served on the Advisory Committee prior to the Graphic Arts department opening. Carol built his own home in Dracut and took pride in where he and his family resided for many years. He could be frequently found outside tending to his yard and property. He was a lifelong member of the Armenian American Veterans of Lowell, Elk Lodge #87 and the east End Club of Lowell.

Carol is survived by his daughter Debra Hudson of Dracut, his grandchildren, David and his wife Sloanne, Christopher and his partner Samantha, and Jonathan all of Dracut, and four great- grandchildren, Ariana, Collin, Logan and Benjamin. Also a brother-in-law Robert Twarog and sister-in-law Wanda Coyle and her husband Tom.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jennie and his son Michael Shabouian, his brother Mike (Manoog) Shabouian and sister Juila Shabouian.

At the request of his family, services for Carol were held privately. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell.
