Christo Joseph Kondos Obituary (1936 - 2024)

Christo J. Kondos, 88, a lifelong resident of Dracut, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2024, at DYouville Life and Wellness Center in Lowell. Born in New York, New York on January 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Louis and Angelina (Malapanis) Kondos. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carol, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2018. Christo received his education in Dracut Public Schools. After graduation, he enlisted in the service where he proudly served his country as a Marine. He was a true patriot. He then attended school in Boston where he received a degree in drafting which led him to work at Raytheon for several years. He owned and operated the O-Ray-O Sandwich Shop in Lowell, alongside his wife and family for many years. The O-Ray-O was a staple in downtown Lowell serving many. Later, he owned and operated L&L Food Store also located in Lowell. His greatest joy was spending time with his family as well as in his yard which he took great pride in. Christo is survived by his two daughters. Lisa McNulty and her husband John McNulty of Greenland, NH, along with their children Matthew McNulty of St. Augustine, FL, and Sam McNulty and his wife Bri of Amesbury, MA, as well as his daughter Louanne Theokas and her son Angelo Theokas both of Dracut, MA and former son in law Nicholas Theokas. He is also survived by his three siblings. George Kondos of York, ME, Rena Monoxelos of Dracut, MA and Carol Hirschfeld of Dracut, MA as well as many nieces and nephews who he adored. The family would like to thank the staff at DYouville Life and Wellness as well as the Merrimack Valley Hospice team for their loving care. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 27, 2024 from 10am-11am, in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell. His Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11 oclock. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations may be made in Christos name to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell, MA 01854. .
