(Charles) Boutselis, 84, died peacefully Sunday morning, August 11th, surrounded by his loving family at Massachussets General Hospital after a brief illness. Known as Dino to family and friends, he was a lifelong resident of Lowell, the son of the late John and Eftiheia (Papleacos) Boutselis, and the husband of the late Iris (Stathis) Boutselis, the love of his life. After losing his father at the age of 11, Dino became the man of the household and took on jobs to help the family while attending Lowell High School. Upon graduation at the age of 17, with the permission of his mother, he enlisted in the Army and served his country in Korea. After his return he was a prison guard in Concord, and later a Management Analyst for the federal government at Fort Devens where he retired. Dino and Iris, who were childhood sweathearts, married in 1953. The family was his universe. He cherished his daughters LeeAnn and Dena who were taught one thing above all others, family first. His five grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved the numerous family gatherings in Dover and Woods Hole, and never missed a milestone in their lives. He would brag incessantly about all of their accomplishments to his lifelong friends every morning at their coffee group. An avid sports fan and Count Basie fanatic, Dino also enjoyed playing craps at Foxwoods Casino and returning to the family's homeland of Greece. His storytelling was legendary. He was on the board of the Hellenic Orthodox Church-Holy Trinity, a board member of the Hellenic Cultural Society and played a leadership role at the Greek American Legion. He is survived by his two daughters, LeeAnn B. Greene and her husband Bill, and Dena B. .Stenhouse, both of Dover, MA. Five grandchildren, Emily (Greene) Kahn and husband Josh, Alex and Abby Greene, and Charlie and Jack Stenhouse. He was the brother of the late Mary Sampas, James Ellis, and Aristides "Ted" Boutselis. Brother William and wife Judy Boutselis reside in Dracut. Loving niece Marina (Sampas) Schell, husband Peter, and many wonderful in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, MA Thursday, August 15, from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Hellenic Orthodox Church-Holy Trinity, 62 Lewis St. in Lowell, MA on Friday, August 16 at 10:00 am. Please meet at the church. Interment a 3 pm in Highland Cemetery, Dover, MA.
