Elias Mansour Khadij, age 75, a resident of Tampa, FL, formerly of Lowell, MA, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Pepin Heart Institute. He was the husband of Katherine Khadij with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.
He was born in Beirut, Lebanon on April 22, 1950, and was the beloved son of the late Mansour and Siham Khadij.
Elias emigrated from Lebanon to the United States at the young age of 19 in search of a better life for his family. He loved this country and built a wonderful life for himself and his family. He spent over 40 years as a hair stylist in Lowell and Tampa. He loved his profession and met so many wonderful people, forming lasting friendships that truly enriched his life.
Elias was an avid golfer and die-hard sports fan. He spent countless hours on the golf course with his friends, enjoying his Monday rounds and good-natured bantering with his buddies. Every Sunday, he would faithfully watch the New England Patriots, even during their challenging seasons. One could say that Tom Brady was his hero; he never missed a game despite living in Florida. The smile on his face when Brady moved to Florida to play for the Buccaneers was absolutely priceless!
Elias was a devoted Christian whose faith was central to his life. He never missed streaming his Sunday mass from Lebanon, maintaining a deep connection to his heritage. His faith in St. Charbel provided him strength, comfort, and guidance throughout his life, and he instilled these values in his children.
The highlight of Elias’s life was without a doubt his children and his grandchildren. The love and happiness he felt for them was immeasurable. He never missed a birthday, holiday, or the opportunity to FaceTime Logan and Mia, whether it was for breakfast, dinner, The Price is Right, or Logan’s hockey games. He loved taking them to “gonna be lake” (aka Canobie Lake) when he visited in the summer. He enjoyed cooking, especially with his son, and would lovingly critique how Ryan didn’t make the hummus or garlic like he did. Elias lived a wonderful life, and cherished his time spent with all of his family and his dearest friends.
In addition to his wife and fur baby Winslow, Elias leaves behind his beloved children, Erica Torres and her husband Steve of Pelham, NH, Ryan Khadije and his wife Elizabeth of Dracut, MA, and step-daughter Wendy Marino; his cherished grandchildren, Logan and Mia Torres, and Elizabeth Maguire; his grand pups, Hunter and Filmore; his sisters, Saide Toubia and her husband Nicolas of Lowell, MA, Eliane Costa and her husband John of Tarpon Springs, FL, and his brother Milad Khadij and his wife Vanessa of Florida; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
