Jeannette McNamara

–

Dracut, Massachusetts

Jeannette (Paquette) McNamara passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 86 surrounded by her loving family. Jeannette was born to parents, Theodore C. and Marie A. (Berube) Paquette. Jeannette grew up in Lowell and in Chelmsford and eventually settled in Dracut with the love of her life Robert, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage before he died in March 2016.

Jeannette was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her two sons. When she later returned to work, she worked in several local mall clothing stores, where she was often recognized for her sales achievements and outstanding customer service.

In her earlier years Jeannette loved to travel. Jeannette and Bob travelled often and returned home with wonderful stories and memories of their trips and time together. Whether it be traveling the country in an RV, spending time in Maine, visiting Nantucket, or traveling through Europe, she was always up for an adventure. Jeannette loved the ocean and was fortunate enough to have visited the coast one last time shortly before her passing.

Jeannette was a kind and loving person and whether you knew her for only a few minutes or for years, she had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in her life. Her kindness and graciousness remain unmatched and will forever be appreciated and missed by all who knew her.

Jeannette had a special fondness for all of God’s creatures, great and small. Each day, she made peanut butter sandwiches for the critters in her yard and lovingly cared for any stray cats that found their way to her, making sure they were well fed and had a warm place to sleep.

In addition to her sons, Jeannette’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joys. Jeannette was willing to and would do anything for her grandchildren. She is fondly remembered as playing goalie for her grandson’s neighborhood street hockey game, cheering at countless baseball games, or in attendance at dance recitals beaming with pride as she watched her granddaughters and great-granddaughters dance. She was present for all birthday celebrations and would often be the one singing happy birthday louder than anyone else in the room. She was fun-loving and in some ways a kid at heart; two qualities she carried with her throughout her life.

Jeannette is survived by her two sons Robert Jr. and Timothy, her grandsons Tyler, Nicholas and his wife Christine, granddaughters Ainsley and her husband Brendan, Emily and her husband Carlos, and Chelsea, great granddaughters Peyton and Layne, great grandson, Leo, and sisters-in-law Constance Cozy and Patricia Paquette.

In addition to her late husband Robert, Jeannette was predeceased by her parents Theodore and Marie, her brothers, Emile, Albert, George, and Robert and her sister Irene Anderson.

Jeannette leaves behind many nieces and nephews, other extended family members, and an endless number of friends, some of whom she has had since childhood. She also leaves behind a close-knit group of neighbors who took great care of and looked out for her since Bob’s passing. She cherished each and every person in her life and her passing leaves a void that will be felt by many.

Memorial donations may be made in Jeannette’s name to the Dementia Society of America at dementiasociety.org.
