Joann I. Welcome

A beautiful, intelligent soul, Joann Welcome, 71, born January 7th, 1953, departed peacefully from this world on February 16th, 2024 in the care of Lowell General Hospital in her hometown Lowell, MA.

A loving wife of 51 years, she is survived by her husband, Roy Dennis Welcome. Together they had 2 wonderful daughters, Wendy Ann Normand and Bethany Lynn Welcome who have since passed.

She is survived by 5 grandchildren, Audrey and Molly DeLorenzo, Alicia Welch, Leah Camara, and Gracie Hughes; 1 great grandchild, Skylar Delorb; her 3 siblings, Arlene Elliott, Paul Brunelle, and Michael Brunelle; her brother and sister-in-law, Karen and Paul Welcome, and numerous others. Joanns parents as well as her 2 sisters, Jacqueline and Shirley have since passed.

Joann had many hobbies, from sitting outside on her deck basking in the sunshine while watching the beauty nature brings, to curling up in bed reading a good book where she enjoyed all types of literature, she was a woman who always kept herself busy enjoying the little things in life. No matter what the world threw at her, she was always full of joy and bravery, and will forever be an inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered as a devoted caretaker, be it by her husband, family, friends, or the daycare she kept running in her own beautiful setting for 30 years. She was truly a force to be reckoned with and no amount of words can describe the love everyone shared for her.
