Judith Ann "JuJu" Boutselis Obituary (1939 - 2025)

Judith A. Boutselis, age 85, a longtime resident of Dracut, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully at DYouville Senior Care on Friday, February 21, 2025. Judith was the loving wife of William J. Basil Boutselis and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Judith was born in Lowell on May 26, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Richard W. Blinkhorn and Mary L. (Carr) Blinkhorn. Judith grew up in Centralville. She attended St. Michaels School and graduated from Keith Hall. After high school Judith worked as a telephone operator at the Lowell office of New England Telephone Company. During her over thirty-year career, Judith rose to office manager and later manager of employee training in Marlboro, MA of NYNEX. Judith and Basil enjoyed summers in Seabrook with their four young sons for many years. Judith loved to travel with her husband and four sons. As co-pilot and navigator in the trusty station wagon, Judith, Basil and the boys explored the country and Canada in the 1970s. Judith and Basil traveled to Greece, Ireland and the Caribbean Islands. They enjoyed many wonderful years after retirement at their summer home in Damariscotta, Maine and winter retreats in Key West and Boca Raton in Florida. Judith and Basil shared strong beliefs and commitment to equal opportunity, social justice and civil rights. She was a strong supporter of the local arts, local charities and cultural community in the Lowell area. She was an avid reader, gardener and enjoyed hosting family gatherings of all occasions at her home. In addition to her loving husband Basil, Judith is survived by her four sons, John and Bopha Boutselis of Lowell, Rick Boutselis and Lisa Santerian of Philadelphia, Jim and Kathy Boutselis of Lowell, and Ted Boutselis and Patti Cook of Salem, NH. Judith was blessed with five granddaughters, Erin Gilbride of Los Angeles, CA, Kara Boutselis and Dan Leiser of Pittsburgh, PA, twins Amy and Christina Boutselis of Brunswick, ME and Sarah Boutselis and Ali Hassanein of Louisville, KY. Judith is also survived by her sisters Mary Phillips of Delmar, NY, Ann Blinkhorn and Rod Kesting of Beaufort, SC, Beth Place of Liberty, ME and sister-in-law Marilyn Blinkhorn of Portland, ME. Her predeceased siblings are Richard Blinkhorn of Los Angeles, CA, Ellen Zalneraitis of Brattleboro, VT, William Blinkhorn of Gulfport, FL, and Kathleen Blinkhorn of Toronto, Canada. There would be far too many to name each person Judith loved and left behind. They include wonderful in-laws and their families, Boutselis and Blinkhorn cousins, nieces and nephews and a wide circle of amazing and supportive friends. A special thanks to the caregivers at DYouville Senior Care, Commodore Lane. Especially Dawn, Diana, Krubo and O who cared for Judith with compassion and dignity during her time as a resident. And finally, thanks and good health to Judiths best friend and companion at DYouville, Beverly Bev Miller. The funeral service will be held privately.
