Kerri L. DeRosa Obituary (1969 - 2022)

Kerri L. (Fadden) DeRosa, 52, a Lowell resident, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, having her family by her bedside. She was the cherished wife of her devoted husband Stephen DeRosa for almost 27 years and loving mother to sons Patrick and Andrew, who so adored her. Kerri was raised in Dracut, MA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Linscott Fadden and the late Eleanor (Nichols) Fadden. She is the youngest of nine siblings: Linscott Fadden, Jr. and his wife Holly of New Durham, NH; Cheryl Plunkett and her husband Bruce of Groton, MA; Ronald Fadden and his wife Donna of Dracut, MA; Kathy Anderson and her husband Mike of Dracut, MA; Karen Morrison and her husband Bruce of Chelmsford, MA; David Fadden and his wife Joann of Windham, NH; Sheila Adams and her husband David of Melvin Village, NH; and Kell-ey Hirst and her husband Alex of Sanborn, NH. She is also survived by her in-laws Richard and Diane (Paquette) DeRosa of Hudson, NH; sister-in-law Christine (DeRosa) Lowell and her husband Jamie of Nashua, NH; and sister-in-law Beth (DeRosa) Martin and her husband Tim of Westfield, NJ. Kerri is survived by twenty-one nieces and nephews. Kerri is a 1987 graduate of Dracut High School and received college degrees from Middlesex Community College and the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She started and progressed her career with Central Savings Bank and MassBank, advancing to bank manager and mortgage originator roles. She later found a new professional calling as a paraprofessional at the Shaughnessy School in the Lowell School System. There she helped and worked with elementary students with special needs. She had a beautiful gift of working with children. Kerri was a people person, loved to laugh, and had a wide spectrum of friends and colleagues who held her in high regard, often asking for her opinions and guidance. She had great empathy and was a soft landing spot for many. Even with her health challenges, she always found the opportunity to enjoy quality time with her family and friends. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Kerri loved spending time in Boston, especially in the North End. She often took her sons on the subway system for adventures, exploring different areas of the city. Kerri also developed a deep affection for Cape Cod, and in particular, Chatham where she, her husband, and sons spent wonderful summer vacations. Kerri received her care at Lahey Hospital during the past seven years and she and her family are grateful to all the physicians, nurses, and staff who took exceptional care of her. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 31st from 4pm to 8pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 1st at 10am at Christ Church United, 10 Arlington St., Dracut. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell.
