(Maciejewski) Kopec, 85, of Lowell died Saturday October 9, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Marion A. Kopec who predeceased her on October 1, 1963. Gladys was born in Lowell, on March 4, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Emily (Tomaszewska) Maciejewski. She was raised and educated in Lowell where she attended the St. Stanislaus School and graduated from Lowell High School. Prior to her retirement, she was a Secretary at the Merrimack Mills and also worked at CBS Hytron both of Lowell. She was a member of the Dom Polski Club and the PAV Ladies Auxiliary where she assisted with the making of pierogis. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending the summertime at Seabrook Beach with her family. She is survived by three daughters Amelia "Millice" Theis and her husband Conrad of Salem, CT, Christine O'Neill of Lowell, and Carol Martin and her husband Michael of Hudson, NH; three grandchildren Kathleen M. O'Neill of Plymouth, Kevin Martin and Matthew Martin both of Hudson, NH. She is also survived by a sister Julie H. Kopec of Lowell; two sisters-in-law Stephanie Maciejewski of Tewksbury and Irene Gacek of Dracut; and a dear friend and caretaker Edward Wojas of Lowell. She was the sister of the late Josephine Hall and the late John Maciejewski, and was the mother-in-law of the late Arthur J. O'Neill. The family would like to thank Elder Services, Personal Touch and Merrimack Valley Hospice for the exceptional care they provided for Gladys, especially Melissa, Marie, Sally and Shannon. Friends are invited to call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue DRACUT on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, Lowell. Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
