Dano, 65, a longtime resident of Tyngsboro, passed away Thursday, November 6th, at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Linda was born in Lowell on December 16, 1948, a daughter of the late Elisa (Luz) and Gilbert Dano. She was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1966. She obtained her BS Degree from Lowell State and her Masters in Education from the University of Lowell. For more then 35 years, Linda worked as a Teacher for the Lowell Public School System until her retirement. Linda was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and a longtime communicant of St. Mary Magdalen in Tyngsboro. Linda was a dynamo. Her bravery in fighting her illness was heroic. Linda is survived and will be deeply missed by her former husband and best friend, Jerry Lavery SR. of Dracut; her two sons, Jerry Lavery II (and his wife Rachael Pierotti and son Jesse Noah Lavery of Washington, D.C.) and Joseph A. Lavery of Tyngsboro; sister, Alicia Connaughton of Cranston, RI; brother, John Dano of Lowell, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and former students and colleagues of the Lowell School Department. The family would especially like to thank her beloved oncologist and friend Dr. Jeff Engelman and his amazing team at MGH; Dr. Jon S. Dubois for "adopting" her at Emerson; and the staff at both MGH and Emerson hospitals for providing her excellent and loving care over the years.
