North Billerica, MA - Massachusetts
It is with a heavy heart that the family of Mary S. (Marilyn) Wasylak announce her passing.
Born on December 09, 1929, she was the youngest daughter to the late Joseph Zawisza and the late Mary Wojtowicz. Marilyn was the widow to the late Emil C. Wasylak who preceded her in death in February 1989 after 35 years of marriage.
Marilyn was a lifelong North Billerica resident having graduated from Billerica Howe High School in 1948. After raising her four children, Marilyn joined the workforce in the health care profession working in the dietary department of area nursing homes, most recently a Registered Dietician at New England Pediatric Care in North Billerica. Marilyn retired in 1995 but soon discovered that retirement was not for her, so she landed a part-time job working in the flower department at Market Basket in the Treble Cove Plaza in North Billerica. After her retirement from Market Basket and during nicer weather, Marilyn could be found either outside tending to her flower gardens or enjoying the scenery at her daughter’s family lake house on Lake Winnipesaukee. Most of all, Marilyn treasured spending time with her family, relatives, and friends.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her three remaining children, Charles and his wife Mary Ellen (Talty) of Dracut, William, her longtime caregiver with whom she resided in North Billerica, and JoAnne Koravos of Auburn, New Hampshire. Marilyn was fondly referred to as "Babcia" by her four grandchildren, Nick Koravos of Nashua, NH, Patrick Wasylak and his wife Kasha of Dracut, Gregory Wasylak and his wife Amanda also of Dracut and Jamie Lyn May and her husband Adam of Auburn, NH and her adoring seven great-grandchildren, Maxwell Koravos of Nashua NH, Alexa and Colin Wasylak of Dracut, MA, Brody and Madison Wasylak of Dracut, MA, and Simon and Halle May of Auburn NH.
Preceding Marilyn in passing along with her parents and husband is her son David J Wasylak of North Billerica MA, her son-in-law Michael Koravos of Auburn, New Hampshire, her sisters Olga Pelczar and her husband Frank of North Billerica, Eleanor Zawisza of North Billerica and Frieda Billings and her husband Edward of Raliegh NC, formerly of Nashua NH.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 8am to 11am at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Her Funeral Mass will follow her visitation at 12pm at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish – St. Andrew Church, 45 Talbot Ave., NORTH BILLERICA. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Polish Cemetery, Lowell.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
