Maureen T. Bilodeau

–

Dracut, Massachusetts

Maureen T. (Taylor) Bilodeau, 79, a long time resident of Dracut, passed away on October 27, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital, following a lengthy illness, with her family by her side. Born on November 30, 1946, at West Point, NY, Maureen moved with her family to Dracut at age five. The beloved daughter of the late Michael J. and Helen E. (Morgan) Taylor, Maureen attended St Michael School in Lowell and graduated from Dracut High School in 1964. From a young age, she was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Dracut, where she sang in the choir, helped altar servers learn Latin and joined the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

As an adult, Maureen devoted her career to the Lowell School Department, where she worked as a teacher’s aide and paraprofessional. She held a special place in her heart for students who faced a wide range of challenges, and she found great joy in helping them learn, grow and reach their full potential. Her kindness and dedication to them made a lasting difference in their lives. When she retired, Maureen held the distinction of being the longest-serving paraprofessional in the city of Lowell, a distinction she was extremely proud of and a wonderful reflection of her years of commitment and the compassion she brought to her work.

Maureen was an avid card player who looked forward to her Friday evening card games, where she could often be found enjoying the friendly competition and, more often than not, coming out a winner. She had a love for games of all kinds, whether testing her knowledge with trivia, watching her favorite game shows, sporting events or enjoying the music and stories of a good musical. Though they may seem like simple pleasures, they brought her great enjoyment.

Maureen leaves behind her loving son, Michael Bilodeau, and his wife, Shelley, of Dracut; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Bilodeau, of Haverhill; her cherished grandchildren, Stacy Laferriere and her husband, Matt, of Salem, NH; Nicole Bilodeau and her fiancé, Chris Host, of Milford, NH; Morgan Bilodeau of Dracut; and John and Leighton Bilodeau, both of Haverhill. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Barbara Curran of Sanford, Maine, Donna Taylor of Dracut and Mary Gordon of Lowell.

Maureen will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews for the laughter and joy she brought into their lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maureen was predeceased by her son, John J. Bilodeau (2024), and her two brothers, Michael J. Taylor (2006) and Donald G.Taylor (1976) and her brother-in-law, Robert Gordon (2026).
