Lowell, Massachusetts
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Nicole Papanicolos Carvalho, age 45, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Nicole’s greatest accomplishments and deepest joys were her four beloved daughters, Natalyia, Angelina, Olivia, and Emani, and her cherished grandchildren, Annalise and Giovanni, who brought immeasurable happiness into her life. Her love for her family was boundless, and the memories she created with them will forever be treasured in their hearts.
Nicole’s life was a beautiful testament to love, kindness, and compassion. She was born in Lowell on September 10, 1981, to Kristina (Papanicolos) Carvalho and the late Lucas Carvalho Sr., former Lowell high school soccer coach.
She leaves behind her loving daughters and grandchildren; her mother, Kristina; her sister, Crystal Graham; her three stepbrothers, Lucas, Marcelo, and Nicholas; her Uncle George Papanicolos; her aunt and uncle, Priscilla and Byron Zakos; her Aunt Lynne Aslanian; godfather Kevin Gavin; and many beloved cousins and extended family members who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her loving grandfather, Gregory Papanicolos, and her godmother, Robin Gavin.
Nicole was a very hard worker, but her true passion was being a mom, her children were her greatest most proud accomplishments. Through her work and personal life, she touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.
Nicole truly believed in the message of 2 Corinthians 9:8, reflecting a heart rooted in faith, generosity, and grace. She was a kind and compassionate soul who looked beyond circumstances and recognized the humanity in everyone she met. Her willingness to help others, her gentle spirit, her beautiful heart, along with her sense of humor and sarcasm were among the many qualities that made her so special.
Above all, Nicole’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved her, her spirit will live on through her daughters, her beautiful grandchildren, and all those whose lives were made a little brighter by knowing her.
Nicole will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought to so many throughout her life.
Her visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 11am to 12pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut followed by a brief prayer service. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
