Olympia G. Jubinski Obituary (1921 - 2011)

(Goscila) Jubinski, 89, of Lowell, died Thursday morning April 7, 2011 in Heritage Manor Nursing Care Center, Lowell. She was the wife of the late John Jubinski who predeceased her in 1999. Born in Lowell on August 1, 1921, a daughter of the late Joachim and Sophie (Prokop) Goscila. She received her education in the Lowell school system and was a National Honor Society graduate of Lowell High School class of 1939. She went on to attend at the former Lowell Commercial College. In her early years, Mrs. Jubinski had been employed as a secretary by the former Symphonics Electric Corporation in Lowell. She later was employed by the City of Lowell as the Assistant City Clerk until the time of her retirement in 1991. She was a communicant of the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell for many years, was a member of the senior citizens group at the church as well as a member of the Czestochowa Sodality at the church. In her free time Olympia enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed making her own clothes. Surviving her are her son Michael F. Jubinsky and his wife Sandra of Lyman, ME; her daughter Susan A. Morris of Ocean Grove, NJ; five grandchildren Lara Sanborn of Hollis Center, ME, Stavana Delano-Jubinsky of Niantic, CT, John D. Jubinsky of Saco, ME, Geoffrey Morris and his wife Kris of Denver, CO, and Peter Morris and his wife Lauren of Freehold, NJ; five great grandchildren Victoria Bonville, Shane and Finley Morris, and Robert-John and Samantha Jubinsky; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law Sandra Booken of West Orange, NJ; her life-long best friend Frances Paduch of Dracut and family friends Fr. Robert DeGrantis of Washington, DC; and John, Margaret and Nancy Lysz of Lowell. She was also the sister of the late Stella Jankowski and Frederick Goscila. It being her wish, calling hours are omitted. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, High St., Lowell. Relatives and friends invited. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers and Mass cards memorial donations can be made in her memory to Lowell Hospice, PO Box 1965 Lowell, MA 01853-1965.
