Richard F. Martel

**PLEASE RUN THURDAY WITH PHOTO* DRACUT -Richard F. Martel, 83, died Tuesday, February 14th at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joanne K. (MacDonald) Martel whom shared 49 years of marriage with. Richard was born on January 4, 1929 in Tewksbury. He was the son of the late Armand Mainville and Jean Martel. During WWII, Richard enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1947. In his free time, he enjoyed playing bingo at the Kwiani Hall in Hudson, NH where he had many close friends. He also enjoyed bowling. In addition to his beloved wife, Richard is survived by his four children, Diane (Martel) Paquin and her husband Gerard of Londonderry, NH, Cheryl (Martel) Hardin and her husband James of CA, Lisa (Martel) Salem and her husband Peter of Dracut, and Richard H. Martel NH; five grandchildren, Kai Hardin of CA, Peter, Samantha, and Joshua Salem of Dracut, and Braelynn Martel of NH; and his aunt Rita Tousignant and uncle Arthur Tousignant. Richard is predeceased by his brother James Martel. At Richard's request, services will be private.
