Quinn, 88, died peacefully, Sunday, May 29th, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Quinn to whom she was married to for 64 years before his passing. Sophia was born in Lowell, on May 23, 1928, a daughter of the late Stamatoula (Pappafagos) and Pavlos D. Martakos. She was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1945, and member of the Girl Officers Regiment. She continued her education at Bradshaw School of Business. Sophia was employed as an Administrative Secretary at Raytheon for 39 years. She was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church and its Ladies Philoptochos Society. Sophia enjoyed participating in Church events and especially loved the yearly Philoptochos Christmas Tea and spending time with family and friends during the holidays. Her outgoing nature, generosity and attentiveness were always present and provide treasured memories. Sophia is survived and will be sadly missed by her three children; her daughter Deborah Sevigny and her husband Ronald of Nashua, NH, son Thomas Quinn Jr. and his wife Catherine of Methuen MA, and daughter Gail Merrill of Nashua, NH. She was a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren, Stephen Sevigny, Caitlin Sevigny, Jason Quinn, Lisa Laplante, Jeffrey Quinn, Lauren Hamernik and Kimberly Merrill; and nine great grandchildren. Sophia was predeceased by her son-in-law, Scott E. Merrill, as well as her six siblings, sisters Clara Frangos, Florence Galaris, Julia Diamantopaulos, Antoinette M. Apostolakos, Stella Koravos and brother, James Martakos. ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on MONDAY, June 6th from 3-7 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut MA. Family and friends will gather at the Funeral Home on TUESDAY at 9 a.m., followed by her Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Fr. John Sarantos Way, Lowell MA. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sophia's memory to the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church.
