V. Shirley Carroll Obituary (1930 - 2021)

V. Shirley (Clark) Carroll, 91, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Carroll with whom she enjoyed 43 years of marriage until his passing on March 28, 1997. Shirley was born in Lowell, MA on January 12, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Melburn and Esther (Bennert) Clark. Shirley was a graduate of Lowell High School where she was a Lowell High Girl Officer. She was an avid skier and enjoyed crossword puzzles and weekly games, including cribbage and gin rummy. Shirley was an active member and former treasurer of the Dracut Historical Society. She especially cherished time with her sister Joan, who was her best friend. Shirley is survived by her grandchildren, Molly Higgins, Thomas Higgins, and Nora Higgins, her brother Albert Guimond of Lowell and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter, Linda Higgins, her sister, Joan Clark, and her half-sister Constance G. Murphy. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 4:00 7:00 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT.
