Xinen Wang

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Xinen Wang, age 91, a longtime resident of Waltham. She passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in China on July 1, 1934. Xinen was raised by her mother and grew up in Nanjing. A devoted teacher and mentor, she taught oceanography and was admired not only for her dedication in the classroom but also for her beautiful singing voice. In 1999 she moved to the United States to be with her daughter Jianing.

Xinen lived a life filled with love and quiet joys. She spent her days caring for others, tending to her plants, and writing. Her most cherished role was helping raise her favorite person, her granddaughter.

Xinen loved spending time in the sun room and playing the piano for her family. Known for her kind heart and gentle spirit, she leaves behind lessons of love and care. Xinen often reminded her family and friends to take care of their health, drink plenty of water, and to go to sleep early.

Xinen is survived by her daughter Jianing, granddaughter Grace and cousin Sister John Paul II. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Her Funeral Services will be privately held amongst family and close friends.
